about

PORTLAND, OR (12/15/17) - On, December 29, 2018, Pop/R&B songstress Kingsley, is set to release her debut single “Might Not Make It (Live)”, this is the second single released on her upcoming EP. “Might Not Make It” is a heartfelt, soulful R&B track, produced and written by Kingsley. The live performance was filmed at The Old Church and include Brooks Berg on guitar and Maiah Wynne on backup and piano.

Despite the fact that Kingsley is new to the Portland music scene, her release has been long-awaited. She’s been making waves at local open mics & showcases and has performed at notable venues like The Old Church & Hawthorne Theater. Her influences range from Jesse Reyez to JP Cooper.

“Might Not Make it was written become of someone very closed to me being bullied to the point of wanted to commit suicide. I think the issue of bullying has been brushed under the rug, especially in the black community. It truly hurts, hurts to know you can’t protect your loved ones from the dark part of the world. I am praying others hear my song and feel the same hope the person I wrote this for felt and they find the strength to win this battle of life. I love you baby girl!”

Her single will be released as a music video on December 29th, 2018 as a Christmas gift to the person Kingsley wrote this for. This is the second release on her highly anticipated EP with many more things to come for Kingsley. lyrics

I don't know where I stand anymore. Stare at my reflection as she moves in different directions. I don't know what gives anymore, grown tired of these mazes got these dead ends everywhere I go.

I'm asking all the wrong questions. To pointless answers. I'm pullin on locked doors and fallin backwards. I'm out of my head now. Close to the end now. I don't know what I don't know.

And I might not make. Oh, I might not make through.
I might not make it. Can I find the strength to fall through?

You do, do, do.

I don't know what gives, anymore. One day the things that made the most sense come crashing to the floor like nonsense. I don't know where I stand, anymore. The person that I use to be is dying right in front of me.

(spoken) Now this is for any person who has felt lost, broken, or afraid. You are not lost you are wondering, you are not broken you are mending and you need to be afraid. Now this is for anyone has lost someone, they will not be forgotten. Cause to love is to give life and to give life is to love and I'm just asking you... Can you find the strength?

You do, do, do.

And I might not make. Oh, I might not make through.
I might not make it. Can I find the strength to fall through?

You do, do, do.

I might not, might not, I might not make it. I might not.

I might not, might not, I might not make it. I might not.

Find the strength to fall through.

You do, do, do.
